gigit Community Guidelines
Welcome
gigit is a marketplace where Employers post Tasks and gigit heroes bid to complete them. These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who uses the Platform, both Employers and gigit heroes. They sit alongside our Terms and Conditions, which set out the legal framework. Where these Guidelines describe behaviour, the consequences of breaching them (including restrictions, suspension, or account termination) are set out in the Terms and Conditions.
Rules for everyone
Keep it on the Platform
All Tasks, payments, communications, and agreements happen through gigit. This protects both sides. Employers get the Safe Payment System, with money held in escrow until the Task is confirmed as done, plus dispute support if something goes wrong. gigit heroes are guaranteed payment for completed work and build a public record of every Task on their profile.
Please do not:
- Share personal contact details, such as phone numbers, addresses, emails, LINE IDs, social media handles, or website links, in your profile, Task posting, Offer, or pre-booking chat.
- Suggest or accept payment in cash, by bank transfer outside the app, or via LINE, Facebook, or any other channel.
- Take a Task you found on gigit off-platform with the same User you met here.
If someone asks you to move a conversation or payment off-platform, please report it.
Be respectful
Treat everyone with respect, whether they are Employers, gigit heroes, or gigit support staff. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, threats, abusive language, or discrimination on the basis of nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. Content that is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate is also not permitted.
Be honest
Profiles, Task postings, and Offers should be accurate and not misleading. Reviews should be based on actual experience: no fake reviews, no incentives offered for positive ratings, and no inflating order or rating counts. Scams, misrepresentation, and impersonation are not allowed.
Use your own account, with your real identity
Each User keeps one account, used only by them. Your name should match your government-issued ID, and your profile photo should be a clear picture of your face. Accounts cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or shared.
Follow Thai law
Do not use gigit to do, post about, or facilitate anything that is illegal in Thailand.
For Employers
Post accurate Tasks
The clearer your Task posting, the better the Offers you will receive. Please include what needs to be done, where and when, and anything special the gigit hero should know, such as access instructions, materials, or hazards. If your Task involves contact with children, elderly people, or other vulnerable individuals, please make this clear upfront.
Communicate
Reply to Offers and messages in good time. If your situation changes, for example the date, scope, or location, please let your gigit hero know as soon as you can.
Verify identity on arrival
Before you let a gigit hero begin work, particularly in your home, please check that the person who arrived matches the profile. The name should match, and the face should look like the profile photo. If something does not match, please contact gigit support before the work begins. If your gigit hero brings assistants or team members, they should have told you in advance. The registered gigit hero remains responsible for everything that happens during the Task.
Release payment fairly
Once the Task is done and you are satisfied, please release payment promptly. If something is wrong, please raise a dispute through gigit rather than withholding payment without explanation.
For gigit heroes
Apply only for Tasks you can deliver
Please submit Offers only for work you can complete to a professional standard. If you do not have the skills, equipment, or qualifications for a Task, please do not bid on it. Some Tasks require Thai licences or certifications, for example electrical, plumbing, driving, or security. You must hold the relevant credentials before offering those services.
Be on time and communicate
Your Employer is relying on you. If you are running late, please message them through the app. If something prevents you from completing the Task, please let them know as early as possible.
Honest pricing
Quote a price that reflects the work. Please do not lowball an Offer with the plan to ask for more later, and please do not ask Employers to top up via cash or off-platform payment. If the Task scope changes during the work, use the Request Extra Payment feature in the app to agree the new price.
Quality work
Repeated cancellations, poor quality, or unprofessional behaviour will affect your Reliability Rating and may lead to suspension or removal from the Platform. You are legally responsible for any damage caused during a Task, so please take reasonable care, and consider getting your own insurance if you take on Tasks with higher risk.
Assistant and team disclosure
If you will have help from assistants or team members on a Task, please let the Employer know before they book. The registered gigit hero is fully responsible for the conduct, quality, and acts of any helpers.
Reporting violations
If you see or experience something that breaches these Guidelines, such as harassment, an off-platform contact request, a suspected scam, or anything else, please let us know. You may use the Report function in the app, or contact gigit support through the Help Centre in the app. We aim to respond promptly and keep reports confidential.
Consequences
Breaches of these Guidelines may result in restrictions on your account, removal of content, or suspension or termination of your account. Full details of how account decisions are made and how you can appeal them are in our Terms and Conditions, published on the gigit website.
These Guidelines may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be notified to Users via in-app notification on the Platform.
